Unfortunately, the upper reach passes through a tunnel that is forbidden to cross by bike, between the Batailles lock and the Heuilley-Cotton lock, so you have to deviate from it a few kilometers if you want to follow the canal in this direction, and go through Balesmes or Chalindrey to join the canal at Heuilley.
