In terms of its layout, Uengsterode is a clustered village, a closed village with irregular plot layouts and farms of different sizes.
An impressive building in the north of Uengsterode is the large railway bridge of the
former Gelstertalbahn, which spans the valley of the Laudenbach with four bold arches.
The church and the atonement stone on the village square, formerly the court square, in the middle of the village are also worth seeing.
