    The statue was brought from the Philippines and is a token of respect and appreciation for the Polish Pope John Paul II due to his stay in this country. The ceremony was attended by Cardinal Ricardo Vidal from the Philippines, who consecrated the statue in the presence of the Archbishop of the Szczecin-Kamień Archdiocese and the bishops from Koszalin. The statue is the work of the world-famous Filipino artist Eduardo Castrillo and is the highest statue of this type in Poland. The initiator of the gift is Mr. Stefan Masternak, a former resident of Australia, married to a Filipino woman - currently a resident of Domacyna.
