Spatzenberg

The memorial cross on the highest point, the 96-meter-high hill of the Spatzenberg, was erected in 1954 by the "Association of Returnees" and is intended to commemorate the prisoners of war of the Second World War.The Spatzenberg, today also known as "Löhner Berg", is only partially wooded. Large parts of the Spatzenberg were used as arable land until the middle of the 20th century. The first reforestation projects only began in 1969. Today the Spatzenberg is an important local recreation area.

There are various trails on Spatzenberg, mostly running north-south. The paved paths lead through the beautiful forest. If visibility is good, the eastern dirt road is recommended. The compromise of limited comfort (condition, gradient) is rewarded with a magnificent view!
