The Ottenegg is a special place, quiet and with the best view against Lake Constance, in good weather with a view to the Hegau volcanoes. On the hill stands a statue of the Virgin Mary on a high pillar, giving the place a spiritual character. The statue of Mary reminds of the founding of the orphanage in the monastery Fischingen (1879).
