The road from Daugavpils to Demeni winds along several long lakes - Ustuka, Demene, Brigėne, etc. The landscape of the shores of these lakes has enchanted more than one person. Over time, several manor ensembles have also formed here. One of them is Brygène. One of the most beautiful architectural monuments of national importance in Daugavpils county is located right near the location of the former complex of Brigėne manor - the mausoleum (chapel) built in the classicist style by the order of the owner of the manor, Max von Engelhart, for his late wife Dorothea von Engelhart (1862 - 1898). Unfortunately, the mausoleum is currently in a very dilapidated state.
