The construction of the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Demenes was started in 1932 on September 18 under the leadership of dean M. Voitekunas. World War II interrupted the plans. In Soviet times, it was an entertainment venue. The church regained its sacred significance in the 80s, but it was fully completed and consecrated on August 30, 1992.
