Vrejlev Monastery, a former nunnery from the 13th century, is located near Vrå in Vendsyssel1. Originally a religious centre, it was converted into an agricultural estate after the Reformation1. Today the monastery is private and not open to the public, but the church, which is located outside the monastery, is open and worth a visit2.
The church impresses with its beautiful interior and some wall paintings2. It is often described as a hidden gem and is a must-see when in the area.

The route is mostly marked with a blue sign featuring a walking man and labeled "Klosterruten" with a directional arrow below. Unfortunately, there are places where the sign is missing, but just follow your intuition for the right direction, and you'll get there.
