This Dutch windmill stands on a hill opposite the monastery. The gallery-style windmill once processed the estate's grain. Disused since 1935, the (restored) mill's blades have been in a cross position since September 26, 1942, after the Rottbøll family, who owned the estate, learned that the Danish police had shot 25-year-old Christian Michael Rottbøll; he was the head of the English special forces in the resistance against the German occupation. The current owner of Børglum is his nephew.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kloster_B%C3%B8rglum

The mill with the old smithy opposite the monastery allows a fantastic 280 degree view over the coast.
Even the shifting dunes with the Rubjerg Knude Fyr are clearly visible on the horizon.
