An important historical monument but unfortunately not easily accessible. The Heimatverein looks after this facility and you can visit it after making an appointment by phone.

The "castle to Neundorf" (Hausneindorf) was founded in 1140 by Henry the Lion (County Blankenburg), destroyed in 1168 and rebuilt in 1172. In the later possession of the Hochstift Halberstadt the castle was first mentioned in documents in 1310 as a pledge property of the county of Regenstein. In the years 1429-1573, the castle was in lien ownership of the lords of Hoym.

After the conversion in 1711 into a Prussian state domain, the agricultural use changed the appearance of the castle.

Surrounded by broad ditches with a diameter of about 175 meters, the round core castle surrounded by a ring wall with a diameter of about 100 meters was protected by a 10 to 15 meter wide kennel.

To reach the castle was from the Selkeniederung over two bridges and their protected by a double gate eastern main entrance to the outer bailey.

The northwestern part of the core castle formed a 40 by 40 large fort with the 10 by 25 meter large surviving Romanesque palace in the west and the still preserved square 7.5 by 7.5 meters wide and 27 meters high gothic tower in the southeast corner, which still shows the traces of a Renaissance spiral staircase.
