The Ampsin-Neuville lock is the 3rd busiest in Wallonia. The site, which was put into service in 1958, has been thoroughly renovated in recent years (from 2018), reducing waiting times for skippers and allowing larger boats to pass through. The works were completed this year, 2024.
A new fish ladder is provided in the lock complex - the largest in Wallonia! - a real artificial river, so that aquatic animals can cross the weir

A "Passerelle Cyclopétienne" has been built over the whole, allowing walkers (or cyclists) to avoid the bridge on the N684, located 800m to the west.
