Shortly after Völkershausen, you'll see the Heldburg Fortress, and this remains the same until you get there. This provides a constantly changing view of the castle. The cycle path is paved, with only about 1.5 km of gravel before Heldburg. Halfway along the route, you'll also have a good view of the town of Heldburg at the foot of the fortress. The route runs through scenic surroundings and is one option for those coming from Bavaria to continue on to Hildburghausen. Another option leads from Gemünda, Ummerstadt, Gauerstadt, and Bad Rodach to Hildburghausen, or vice versa.
