The bridge is impressive and modern. In the past, train passengers had to drive to Wolgast Hafen, then with "'Kind und Kegel" on foot across the bridge, and then continue on the Wolgast ferry.

The combined car and railway bridge has ended a decades-long era, after which train passengers had to "haul" their luggage from Wolgast Harbor to Wolgast Ferry and vice versa.

A very interesting bridge construction.

For me, the bridge was the end of a 380-kilometer trip over two days, and despite the rain, it was a sublime feeling to drive over it. Not only in the knowledge of leaving the mainland, but also the goal of having reached the island of Usedom.
