This flat fountain is located in the traffic-calmed Strada Liviu Rebreanu, which is lined with many cafes and restaurants. In its center you can see a bronze model of the city of Bistriţa as it probably looked in the Middle Ages. In 1464, the fortified city had 18 towers. Each guild of craftsmen looked after a defensive tower. The Citadel of Bistriţa was one of the strongest fortifications in Transylvania and was, throughout history, one of the seven castles around which the existence of the other Saxon communities in Transylvania was organized.
