The atmosphere is most beautiful in the summer evening when the bridge is busy with lots of nice people drinking their wine there.

This is the oldest bridge over the Main in Würzburg and until 1886 it was the only one. The first bridge was built at this point around 1120. The construction of the new version took several centuries: from 1476 to 1730, when the last sandstone figures were finally put up. Part of the bridge was blown up during World War II, but was rebuilt in 1950. The bridge has been closed to motor vehicles since 1990.

I had planned my tour with this highlight. The pictures were so promising. On my Main tour, I made a special turn into downtown Würzburg and descended on the bridge to capture the great views and impressions.
In the evening time it is common for students to settle down here with a beer or wine.
No wonder with the great view.
