These beech trees are nationally famous for their unusual shapes. Especially at dusk, they cast strange shadows down the avenue. Unfortunately, they don't last forever. To ensure that these unusual specimens will remain in the future, they have been replanted here in the expectation that they will develop new branches on the underside. A fence should protect the trees from overly intrusive deer.
