This monument is a stone memorial column with the names of the war victims from the First and Second World Wars. It is a monument with very great symbolism. On top of the monument is a Walloon rooster on a German Stahlhelm as a sign of victory after the two German invasions in both world wars. On the four sides of the column are the names of victims, 52 men were captured by the Germans during the course of the war in their attempt to join the Belgian army in the Westhoek. Two men who were captured died in captivity. During the First World War, 235 soldiers from the municipality of Limbourg were included in the army, of which 119 were war volunteers and 116 were professional soldiers. 16 of them died during the war. In addition, to terrorize the population, looting was ordered and 28 houses were set on fire. 27 residents were also forced to work in Germany.
