The castle in Olsztyn near Częstochowa is one of the most characteristic landmarks on the Trail of the Eagles' Nests. The ruins of a medieval fortress rise on a limestone hill, from where there is a wide panorama of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. The castle once played an important defensive role on the borders of the Kingdom of Poland, and today it attracts history and photography enthusiasts.
