Great view of the Veste, Coburg and the surrounding area.
On the history of the Bären Bastion:
"Under Duke Johann Casimir (1564-1633), the Veste Coburg was converted into a fortress. He himself moved into the recently newly built city palace, the Ehrenburg. In 1614, the outer fortifications were broken down and a new fortification system was created with the two southern bastions, Bunter Löwe and Rautenkranz, as well as the western Bären Bastion."
