Geijsteren Castle is a ruin of a castle dating from the 13th century, located in the North Limburg village of Geijsteren, municipality of Venray, near the Maas.
The seigneury was first mentioned in 1251. The castle was destroyed in 1585 and burned down in 1919, during which the entire house archive was lost. Some drawings and photos from the 20th century have been preserved, so we know what the castle looked like. After the fire of 1919, the castle was rebuilt in a slimmed down form and in 1944 it was destroyed by a British bombardment, leaving it in ruins.

This 700 hectare area is located between Limburg and North Brabant and belonged to Geijsteren Castle on the Maas, but was unfortunately destroyed during the Second World War. Work on building the walls of the outer bailey began in 2003 to return the ruin to its pre-1950 state and it was reopened to the public in 2012. It is now freely accessible and is therefore often visited. From the tower it is also clearly visible what the castle used to look like.
