Hiking
Skallerup Church was built in the mid-12th century in the Romanesque style of granite stones. The nave and chancel were built first, and in the late Gothic period the sacristy on the north side and the porch on the south side were added, as was the tower, which was built with a mix of the stone blocks from the west wall and bricks. A bell tower is located outside the church.

Three checkerboard stones decorate the church in Skallerup.
One stone is located on the porch on the south side, to the left of the door.
A second stone can be found on the north side of the nave, 2nd stone next to the bricked-up whitewashed door in the 5th row from the bottom.
The third stone is located on the north wall of the tower.
