    Hiking

This is a very mystical spot. It has been referred to as a Holy Well and cures are claimed from its waters.

The well is associated with a diseased man who was driven away from his village was cured by the water and lived here as a hermit.

It lies within a circular wall lined with yew trees.
I have never EVER come across such a mesmerising decaying tree stump in my life.

    It HAD to be highlighted.

It even has a little gateway effect at the bottom (Hence the name I have given it)

It is completely naturally formed and is all the more breathtaking purely because one is still awed by the grove with Gawton's Well.
This has a low circular wall around it which is lined with yew trees and within it is Gawton's Well and stream.

It is a very atmospheric place to walk through.
