As a hiker for the night or a nice break you will find a hut with two picnic benches outside and another one under the roof. In the hut you will find two sleeping platforms and additional seating. Outside there is space for around four tents. A composting toilet is just a few meters away. You will bring your own drinking water and toilet paper.Anyone who has bought a trekking ticket worth 5 euros in advance can use the bivouac. A section is filled in with the date of use and thrown into the ticket box provided on site. The other section is kept to show. The tickets are available at the train stations in Bad Schandau and Schöna, for example, as well as from Globetrotter in Dresden. The bivouac is open from April to October.

There is another bivouac area below the Spitzstein. There are sleeping places in the small hut (don't forget a sleeping mat & sleeping bag), as well as the possibility to pitch a small tent. As with all bivouac sites in Saxon Switzerland, the following applies: 4 to 10 p.m., i.e. only set up camp after 4 p.m. and set off again the next morning before 10 a.m.
