Tips

The Wallberg is a very easy summit. In the upper area it can happen that you have to use your hands to help. Unfortunately, the Wallbergbahn ensures that there is absolute mass tourism here, especially on weekends.

The last climb is fun with children as you have to climb.

The last meters to the summit cross are not to be underestimated. In any case, only go with good shoes.

Because of the Wallbergbahn, the peaks in the Mangfall Mountains are already heavily frequented. But the view from there is gigantic. If you like it a little quieter, climb the Setzberg to the west, from which you have almost the same view.

Great tour. A bit exhausting. Condition and a little surefootedness necessary. Mountain boots necessary. Great visibility in good weather.

The Wallberg is also often called the mountain of the Tegernsee. Although a cable car goes up to just below the summit, still many people opt for the sporty ascent. The summit is then full of attractions. From the Wallbergkapelle, over the imposing view over the Tegernsee, up to the many hang-gliding and paragliding, which the mountain lures to fly with good thermals.

Very nice view but pretty crowded. Definitely go a few meters further, because it is a little quieter.

The way up (summer way) entered here is not nice! 2h only paved gravel road. From the same parking lot, however, the path splits after about 20 minutes. If you take the winter path from there, you walk on a really beautiful hiking trail through the forest and past a sweet alpine pasture. Only takes 15 minutes longer. But it is very worthwhile.

A classic of Munich's local mountains - unfortunately mostly quite frequented

In winter, the last stretch to the summit is icy and slippery, but you can mostly hold on to the side rocks. Still, it doesn't hurt to take gear and sticks with you.
It's definitely worth it for the view towards Tegernsee and the surrounding mountains ❤️

Incredibly beautiful, especially at sunrise. From 9 a.m. the ascent is already very crowded on the weekend ...

Great view of the Tegernsee and the surrounding peaks. But if possible go up before the train goes, otherwise there will be quite a crowd in the last few meters.

🐧 Due to corona measures, you should expect corresponding waiting times at all huts. So either wait an hour or just take everything with you 🐧
