Neuberg Castle is named after the von Neuberg family. It was first mentioned in a document in 1288. Due to the raids of local nobles against the imperial city of Eger, Charles IV destroyed the castle, which was rebuilt shortly afterwards. The raids then continued. In 1327, the Neubergers transferred their free property to the Bohemian King John and received it back as a fief. In 1392 ownership passed to the von Zedtwitz family. After the Thirty Years' War the castle remained uninhabited and fell into disrepair. The keep, which rises on a rock massif above the village, has been preserved. Cellar vaults were converted into an air raid shelter during World War II. In the immediate vicinity are the ruins of the Horní zámek chateau, which burned down in 1902 and from which extensive remains of the walls have been preserved. The Lower Castle (Dolní zámek) was allowed to fall into disrepair during the Czechoslovak era.

The Upper Part Castle was built at the end of the 17th century by converting what was probably originally a three-wing Renaissance castle. It is a two-story rectangular building. In the lower part on the left there was a horse stable with preserved feeding troughs that can be viewed. This lower part, together with the kitchen, served more as an entrance and utility area. There were bedrooms, work rooms and other utility rooms on the upper floors.

In 1902 the castle burned down and all that was left was a ruin that had fallen into disrepair over time. Until 1930, the ground floor was used as a storage room for the future brewery. During the time when there was no interest in this monument, all the ceilings collapsed and the castle ruins became wild and overgrown.

In 2007, the municipality decided to improve the poor overall condition of this monument and make it accessible to the general public. Thanks to funding from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the Karlovy Vary Region, debris and wild growth were gradually removed.

It is currently possible to access the entire ground floor. Also worth mentioning are up to 4-5 m of stone blocks embedded in the ground, which served as vaulted ceiling pillars for the horse stable and the entrance hall.
