The Hohe Stein is a solitary rock near Bärenloh, a district of Bad Elster in the Saxon Vogtland district. It consists of phyllite (Greek phyllon "leaf"), a crystalline, thin slate of the epizone. The rock consists mainly of quartz and finely flaked muscovite.
The Hohe Stein is located in the district of Adorf on the Westring hiking trail (also called the D-Weg) near the Waldcafé. The area around Bad Elster belongs to the Elster Mountains.
