Mountaineering

The Gaishorn is a 2247 m above sea level mountain on the Vilsalpsee near Tannheim in the Allgäu Alps. After the Leilachspitze, it is the second highest mountain in the Vilsalpsee mountains and lies north of the Rauhhorn and west of the Vilsalpsee.

Mountaineering

The summit can be reached via several marked trails. The two most common ascents lead from the Vilsalpsee via the Vilsalpe and the Geißeckjoch or from the Vilsalpsee via the Obere Roßalpe to the summit. These routes are ideal for a crossing. In winter, the mountain is also a popular destination for ski tours on the north flank.
