Tipkenhoog burial mound and Harhooh giant bed. There are over 530 known burial mounds from the Viking and Bronze Ages on Sylt. There are also around 50 megalithic graves from the Neolithic period. You can find the most important ones on the free "hünen.kultour" map, which you can get in the island's museums, for example.

There are two megalithic tombs here. North of the Tipkenhoog from the Bronze Age, excavated in 1873, heavily damaged during World War II and restored as a burial mound from 1944 onwards. South of it lies the older Harhoog from the Neolithic period. This megalithic tomb was originally also covered by a mound, which was about 32 m long. However, this tomb was only relocated here in 1954; it was originally located on the current airfield. Funnel beakers and cups made of pottery as well as flint blades were found in the tomb.
