Hiking
The Kühstein geotopes are located on the southern edge of the crater on the outskirts of Mönchsdeggingen. Here, two quarries offer insights into the geological past of the region: We look at relics of a 160 million year old reef belt and the remains of an estuary delta of the Rieskrater lake. On a 2.7 km long nature trail, eight event boards explain the phenomena of geotopes and biological and historical features.
