Well worth the time to visit this gem. Start at Station 1 and work up if you can. There is a surprise....not all of the stations are done in mosaic form!!
The Kalvarienberg church is located on a steep rock high above the Ehnbach gorge. The chapel was built between 1803 and 1805, when Thomas Tiefenbrunner of Zirl had collected enough money for the construction of the church.
The stations of the Cross were renovated in 1975 by Zirl clubs and associations. Mosaics by local artist Anton Plattner were added as well.
