The temple originates from the Yuan Dynasty and located directly at the river in Zhujiajiao. The temple was an important gathering place for scholars during the Ming and Qing Dynasty. Many relics were removed, stolen or looted during the war in the 1930s and 40s. The temple itself was demolished in the 1950s - and later rebuilt in its current form and appearance.
