Particularly worth seeing is the market square with the old town hall and St. Victor's Church, a Gothic hall church built in the 13th century. The narrow streets and idyllic squares invite you to linger and offer numerous cafés and restaurants serving regional specialties.Schwerte is an ideal starting point for nature lovers and cyclists. The town is located on the Ruhr Valley Cycle Route, one of the most popular cycling routes in Germany, which runs from the source of the Ruhr in the Sauerland to its confluence with the Rhine. Along the route, you'll enjoy beautiful views of the Ruhr River and its floodplains, and there are numerous opportunities for breaks in the picturesque villages along the way.
