"The small town of Aarberg, founded by Count Ulrich III of Aarberg - Valangin in 1220, was for a long time the only bridge between Thun and Solothurn.
From the west you enter the town on the built in 1567/68 wooden bridge called Falcon Bridge. The girders of the 60 meter long bridge consist of huge spruce trunks. For the rest of the woodwork mostly oaks were used.
Still today, the Old Aare passes under the structure supported by three mighty pillars. "- Source: sgkgs.ch
