The granary was once a rice mill, and has recently been turned an area boasting with bars, cafes, bookstores, art galleries, stores - and plenty of photo opportunities.
It was built in 1953, but fell into decline in the late 1990s. In the years following it was used for hardware shops, warehouses and other purposes. In 2019 the Songjiang District decided to turn this into a culture and art district. Stand out feature are the silos with the spacemen paintings. But there are 50+ other buildings on site with a variety of functions - and photo opportunities.
