If you're interested in Innsbruck's history, you can't miss Wilten Abbey. The Premonstratensians living here have played a significant role in shaping the city and its surroundings over the centuries. For example, Innsbruck wouldn't exist if they hadn't ceded parts of the abbey's lands. The abbey has been documented since the 12th century. Today, around 30 friars provide pastoral care to 21 parishes. The Baroque building dates back to the abbey's heyday in the 17th century.
