Beautiful and fairly large park, named after the brothers Edward and Frans Raemdonck who - respectively 22 and 20 years young - died during WWI; according to tradition they died in each other's arms.

In 1959, the area around the park was parceled out and the park was constructed.
Characteristic of the Van Raemdonck Park is the large pond, with a peninsula that houses many breeding birds. Also typical is the wide variety of trees and shrubs that grow against the elevated railway embankment. You will see oaks, birches, pines, hazels and less common species such as the honey locust, the European Judas tree and the Japanese larch. Along the waterfront we find swamp cypresses, alders and willows. There is also plenty of room for fishermen along the shod bank of the pond.
