The Waag van Workum was built in 1650. It replaced a previously dilapidated structure. The location is on the Merk square next to the St. Gertrude Church. The weigh house has a long awning on one side.
The building has a hipped roof with a dormer window with a stepped gable on each side. At the corners of the roof are four lions with a coat of arms with a satyr underneath. The facades also contain coats of arms, including the municipal coat of arms with the year 1650.
