This 2,000 hectare wilderness area between Anklam and the Szczecin Lagoon is a real insider tip.
Here you will find a fascinating moorland landscape with shallow waters, raised moors and damp forests. The biodiversity is impressive: sea eagles, cranes, beavers and otters feel right at home here.
What is particularly exciting is that since a storm surge in 1995, the area has been developing completely naturally. Perfect for anyone who wants to experience real wilderness!
Tip: Keep an eye out for the rare copper butterfly. With a bit of luck, you might even spot a lesser spotted eagle.
