The ancient city of Magnesia is on the Ortaklar-Söke highway, within the borders of Tekin Village of Ortaklar Sub-district, Germencik District of Aydın Province. According to legend, the city was founded by Magnets from Thessaly. The location of the first Magnesia, founded by the Magnets who came to Anatolia upon the prophecy and guidance of Apollo, is unknown. Diodor, the city of Thibron of Athens, B.C., against the epidemic diseases that occurred as a result of the constantly changing beds and overflowing of the Menderes River and the Persian danger. It says it carries 400-399. Most likely, rather than being a new city, Thibron must have brought the inhabitants of the city of Magnesia to Leukophyr at the foot of Thorax (Silver) Mountain on the outskirts of today's Magnesia and protected them there. For this reason, it would be correct to assume that today's Magnesia was founded in a later period.
