Renée Lemaire and Augusta Chiwy, two Belgian nurses, courageously cared for the wounded at the first aid post, the improvised hospital of the 20th American Tank Battalion, then the 10th Armored Division. On December 24, 1944, they fell victim to German bombings there. Offensive in which Renée Lemaire lost her life.
