The Vía Verde de la Cantera in Alicante is a 1.2-kilometer-long cycle and pedestrian path along the former route of the "Trenet de la Marina" (Marina Railway). The car-free path connects the city with Albufereta beach and runs close to the sea, accompanied by expansive views and marked lookout points. Particularly impressive are the restored tunnel sections, which are now safe for walking and cycling and have been enhanced by natural light and ventilation.
