Mount of Olives Chapel, Isny
The former cemetery chapel, which was built in 1480, was named after the depiction of Christ on the Mount of Olives on the upper floor. The ground floor served as an ossuary and was converted in 1967 into a memorial for the victims of war and tyranny. According to the inscription on the north side, the chapel survived the great fire of 1631 unscathed. The Israeli artist Ofra Zimbalista installed her work "Shulchan Aruch" here, Hebrew for "set table". It combines statements about anonymity, murder and remembrance of those doomed to die - about the Last Supper or a meal in a labor camp. The installation made of iron, aluminum, lead and wood is on permanent loan from Friedrich Hechelmann.
