The Kuhtränke (Chuetränki) is a beautiful and popular place right on the Rhine. It has benches and a fireplace). You can also swim here in summer. In summer 2013 the Chuetränki was renatured!

The Kühtränke is, as the name suggests, a place where the cows were led to drink or where they went to drink water themselves. In general, shallow bank areas on the Rhine were an option, since water was otherwise only available at the few flow wells (which were exclusively fed by springs), apart from the laboriously drawn water from the well in the settlement area. The Kühtränke is the only place on the otherwise mostly high and steep Rhine dump between Salmenquartier and Ellikon, which is barely passable for cattle, that grants level access to the banks of the Rhine. It should be noted that in the past the forest pasture was common, where the cattle mainly fed on leaves; There were no pastures like today. It is therefore obvious that the cows grazing in the vast Rheinau Forest came to drink on the banks of the Rhine at the Kühtränke.
