A much taller and more spectacular wooden tower has stood here since April 2025. The tower itself is worth a hike, as it is very beautiful and blends perfectly into the landscape. From the platforms, you can perfectly observe the animals in the Thurauen meadows.

Hiking

One of several observation towers in the largest floodplain in Switzerland. With a bit of luck you can discover different species of birds (Little Ringed Plover, Golden Oriole, Kingfisher, ...) or beaver from here. It is also exciting how the course of the Thur changes time and again.

Attention: the seemingly direct access route from the east is interrupted just before the tower, i. to be recommended only on foot in dry weather. If you come from the east, you can reach the tower easier from the southern forest cross road.
