The entrepreneur Emil Gernt had the inn and hotel built on the site of the old Hofmann brewery. The Rübezahl fountain on the market square became a stumbling block for the population. The massive block of stone did not correspond to Franconian architecture. However, since the donor, Emil Gernt - who came from the Giant Mountains and was very attached to his homeland - saw the construction as a gesture of reconstruction and a contribution by the Sudeten Germans, approved.
