In contrast to many other Danish islands, you can get to Römö without any problems via the 10 kilometer long dam. So far, this has been possible free of charge so that excursions into the near and far surroundings make the holiday very varied. The dam has two lanes and there is a separate lane for cyclists on both sides. The dam was not opened until 1948, until then a small ferry had to be used, which was laborious. With a height of almost 6 meters, it was considered safe against storm surges at the time, but unfortunately this is no longer the case today. Several floods caused considerable damage and consequently high repair costs. So there are still considerations for the use of a fee in the future. There are 3 parking bays to the island, whereas towards the mainland there are only two options for a stop. Since you can cross the Wadden Sea between the mainland and the island with dry feet, there are, for example, spectacular opportunities for the interested hobby ornithologist at the time of bird migration. But at all other times of the year there is always one or the other to discover.http: //römö.net/html/urlaub_romo.html
