One hears again and again, also from Alt-Oberkochenern, that the actual Wolfertstal is not the main valley that leads towards Essingen; Rather, the real Wolfertstal is the steep side valley that runs up at the Fischer Aussiedlerhof through the gorge over the so-called fairy tale meadow to the Volkmarsberg. The name Wolfertstal for the main valley towards Essingen only came up after the war. However, nobody has ever been able to explain exactly and precisely what the actual main valley should then be called.

The Wolfertstal is a tip, because the valley is nestled between Langert and Volkmarsberg and you are practically in pure nature.

The valley is really a great bike route. The paths are all very easy to drive on (even with a bicycle trailer and dog). Either they are tarred or very well graveled.
