    Hiking

Between 1893 and 1897, the "Køkkenmødding", one of the largest prehistoric waste heaps (shell heaps) in Northern Europe, was discovered and archaeologically examined in Ertebølle. In addition to countless food remains, it contained numerous finds dating back more than 6,000 years. The site on the east bank of the Limfjord gives its name to the Mesolithic Ertebølle culture (ca. 5100 to 4100 BC). The Stone Age Center is divided into an exhibition building and an outdoor area with, among other things, a reconstructed Stone Age settlement. Opening hours: vesthimmerlandsmuseum.dk/stenaldercenter

A small but very beautiful museum with a large and interesting outdoor area. In summer, the buildings come alive and people live there.
