The Stephanus Church is a hall church in the Württemberg Kameralamtsstil, i.e. with the altar and pulpit strictly aligned to the central axis and a three-sided gallery. It was built in 1827 by the Stuttgart building inspector Christian Friedrich Roth on the site of a single-nave Romanesque church building. The foundations of the tower (dated to 1299) and two bells from 1464 and 1468 are still preserved from the old church. In 1868 the octagonal tower roof was demolished and the church tower was raised by the architect Christian Friedrich Leins in the historicist style.
