Hiking

The Eifel is known for its impressive house hedges. The field hedges with trees are also impressive. These "simple" field hedges made of copper beech are not only beautiful to look at for every hiker. The field hedge protects property, i.e. it is a pasture fence and a sun and wind shelter in one. It also provides firewood. The trees grow through the hedge. Wonderful, I wish our monotonous arable land (Lower Rhine/Rhineland) had field hedges like this too.
